Winter Sports Help Semper Fi Fund Vets Recover at Lake Tahoe Ski & Snowboard Camp April 1 – 4, 2017
Team Semper Fi joins Achieve Tahoe to learn and sharpen skills on the mountains
Who: Thirty service members from the Semper Fi Fund’s Team Semper Fi Program, of all ability levels, will learn and enhance their ski and snowboard skills at the “best of the west” Lake Tahoe.
WHAT: Semper Fi Fund’s athletes will hit the slopes at the second-annual Lake Tahoe ski and snowboard camp in North Lake Tahoe, California. These incredible, inspiring athletes will build more than just skills at this unforgettable event — they’ll also leave with camaraderie, confidence and life-long bonds with their fellow teammates. During the three-day camp, service members will receive instruction from adaptive experts with five decades of experience at Achieve Tahoe.

WHY: “Recovery Through Sport” skiing and snowboarding are ideal outlets for injured service members to hone both physical agility and mental focus, skills that are critical to navigating their recovery. Learning and practicing alongside fellow wounded service members, they can also trade stories, share strategies for coping with their injuries, and forge lasting friendships.
