The California 600

San Fransisco to Camp Pendleton, CA – The California Tour is a 600+ mile cycling event that starts at the Marine’s Memorial Hotel in San Francisco and finishes at Del Mar Beach, Camp Pendleton California.

Riders are volunteers from the U.S. Marine Corps, the Marine Corps League and the local community. Proceeds from this event support the Semper Fi Fund and the Sentinels of Freedom Scholarship Foundation.

The Semper Fi Fund supports Marines and Sailors as well as members of the Army, Air Force and Coast Guard who have served in support of Marine forces, when they become injured in post 9-11 combat or training. The organization helps defray the expenses incurred during hospitalization, rehabilitation and recovery while assisting with the expenses associated with the purchase of specialized equipment, adaptive vehicles and home modifications.

The California Tour will take place from the 19th through the 26th of September 2010. Twenty cyclists and fifteen volunteers will participate in the journey.
