Craig Grossi, author of ‘Craig & Fred: A Marine, A Stray Dog, and How They Rescued Each other’ hosts the annual benefit concert SCHMALLS FEST on December 13th, 2019 at Gypsy Sally’s in Georgetown, Washington D.C. The night honors the memory and sacrifice of GySgt Justin Schmalstieg. Craig served with Justin in Sangin, Afghanistan and was by his side when he was killed in action protecting his unit from IEDs. To all who knew him, his actions were consistent with who he was and how he lived – above and beyond the call of duty. SCHMALLS FEST is a night to honor Justin and all those who have left us too soon by keeping their memory alive. All proceeds of the event will benefit Semper Fi Fund, a non-profit that supports combat wounded, critically injured, ill, service members and their families with immediate financial support. Local and beloved cover band The 50 Year Storm and DJ WWTC will provide the rhythm & atmosphere for this special night. Doors open at 7:00pm, Craig Grossi will sign books before joining the band on the drums, raffle items will be available and Gypsy Sally’s kitchen is available for dinner. Concert starts at 8:00pm and is 21+. For tickets visit https://www.eventbrite.com/e/schmalls-fest-tickets-80512243287.
