San Francisco to Santa Barbara Swim 2012

San Francisco, CA – On September 23, 2012 six swimmers will enter the San Francisco Bay and swim to Santa Barbara in a relay swim event. The swim is part of several events being hosted by team members to raise support and awareness for the Semper Fi Fund.
The swimmers, who will not be wearing wetsuits, will swim in one hour shifts, 24 hours a day for 6 to 7 days.
Three days later multiple relay running teams – including injured veterans – will run the same course on land. They will be running nonstop for over 400 miles.
The team will also be hosting a black tie fundraiser on September 7th at 6:30 pm at the Marines Memorial Hotel ballroom. The guest speaker for the evening will be Mike Thornton – most decorated Navy Seal.
The fundraising goal for all of the events is $500,000. Proceeds will benefit the Semper Fi Fund.
