Team Semper Fi Athletes Recover in Inaugural Rock Climbing Clinic with UNC

Who: Fifteen service members from the Semper Fi Fund’s Team Semper Fi Program learn how to rock climb with instruction from University of Northern Colorado professors and lifelong climbers.

WHAT: Team Semper Fi and University of Northern Colorado team up in Inaugural rock climbing clinic to teach service members new skills. Service members will spend three days learning the basics of rock climbing and advance their individual skills in the Rocky Mountain National Park.

Interviews available: 9:00am – 5:00pm

WHY: “Recovery Through Sport” has proven to be an ideal outlet for injured service members to hone both physical agility and mental focus, skills that are critical to navigating their recovery. Learning and practicing alongside fellow wounded service members they can also trade stories, share strategies for coping with their injuries, and forge lasting friendships.
