Miles for Marines – 2011
Jun 25, 2011 @ 8:00 am - 11:00 am
Rock Hill, NC – For the 3rd year-in-a-row Miles For Marines will host their “Crucible 15K” and “Double-Time 5K” trail race that is being held in honor of all who have served with the U.S. Marine Corps.
For ages 10 and under they offer “Run for a Marine, 1 Mile”, which gives a child the opportunity to select from a list of injured Marines currently at Walter Reed Hospital and run a mile for them.
The event is scheduled to begin on Saturday, June 25th, 2011 at 8:00am at Westminster Park located off of India Hook Road in Rock Hill, SC.
The courses are both challenging and scenic, winding along the banks of the Catawba River. The organizers hope that as participants run the courses they are reminded of the discipline, self sacrifice and rigorous training that Marines endure in effort to better serve our nation and keep us safe.
All proceeds will benefit the Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund.
