TSF Marine Corps Marathon

Who: Over 700 Semper Fi Fund Community Athletes, Team Semper Fi athletes, caregivers and family members from the Semper Fi Fund participate in the 43rd Marine Corps Marathon to show their grit and devotion in “The People’s Marathon.”

What: Semper Fi Fund’s thirteenth consecutive participation in the Marine Corps Marathon. For the seventh year in a row, Semper Fi Fund is the largest charity partner of the Marine Corps Marathon. Several hundred Team Semper Fi athletes from all branches of the military and community members that “Support Through Sport” by raising money for the Semper Fi Fund will join more than 30,000 runners and handcyclist from around the world at the 43rd Marine Corps Marathon. These athletes will not only compete together – they will continue to grow post-trauma – learning to thrive beyond their injuries. These unique bonds reinforce that they are not alone and there is a community that supports them.

Start: Route 110 (all lanes) halfway between the Pentagon and Arlington Memorial Dr.
Finish: Marine Corps War Memorial
Why: “Recovery Through Sport” has proven to be an ideal outlet for injured service members to hone both physical agility and mental focus, skills that are critical to navigating their recovery and reintegration. Learning and practicing alongside wounded service members, they can also trade stories, share strategies for coping with their injuries and forge lasting friendships.
