Harris was born in Germany and six months later began traveling around the world. He grew up as an “Army brat” until his family moved to Mount Dora, Florida where he joined the United States Marine Corps. Upon graduating on a Friday he loaded up on the bus that Sunday and shipped out to Parris Island, South Carolina where he became a U.S. Marine. His first duty station was in Okinawa, Japan and from there he went to Camp Pendleton and was assigned to the Air Naval Gunfire Liaison Company.

While serving in ANGLICO he attended Army Airborne training and accrued seventeen jumps. After being discharged from the Corps he joined the United States Army where he went from being a Forward Scout Observer for artillery and naval gunfire as a Marine to being a Motor Transport Operator in the Army. He spent his entire tour working with and delivering U.S. mail to military bases throughout Germany and Belgium. He was also one of eight soldiers chosen to represent the United States at an international NATO forklift driving competition in Hungary.

Once he was honorably discharged from the military he moved to Florida and began traveling around the United States until he found himself living in Montana and married to the woman who inspired him to change his life. He’s the author of the children’s adventure novel: Kingdom of Helena, and he’s also a member of the American Legion.

Harris is ready to begin raising money for those in need by doing a solo thru-hike of the entire length of the 2180 mile long Appalachian Trail. Please help him help our service members by donating whatever you can.

Thank you for your support!
