"Ascent to Heal": A Climb of Mt. Kilimanjaro by Meigan Stack and Lucas Bell

Tanzania, Africa – Meigan Stack and Lucas Bell will climb Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, Africa, to support the Semper Fi Fund!

One of Meigan’s close friends, Captain Joshua Glover, was injured last year in Afghanistan. They were able to meet Josh and his wife, Heather, last fall, and they became the inspiration for this climb, and Meigan and Lucas chose the Semper Fi Fund based on Heather’s recommendation.

The timeframe for the event is as follows:

DAY 1: Arrive and Prepare for Mt. Kilimanjaro Climb

DAY 2: First Day of Kilimanjaro Climb to Machame Camp

DAY 3: Shira Cathedral, Bivi Cave and Shira Camp

DAY 4: Lava Tower, Heim Glacier and Barranco Camp

DAY 5: Barranco Wall, Karanga Valley, Glaciers and Barafu Hut

DAY 6: Summit Kilimanjaro at Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa

DAY 7: Descend to Mweka Gate

Basic Info: We are using a NY-based outfitter called Outdoor Bound. Meigan and Lucas will be hiking with a group of around 13 people, not including guides, porters, etc. Unfortunately the trek is filled up, so it will just be Megan and Lucas raising money for the Semper Fi Fund, so please support them today!
