2012 Fearless 5k

Pittsburgh, PA – The Fearless 5k is a memorial run/walk held in honor of fallen Marine Sgt Joseph D Casey who was killed on June 26, 2010 in Helmand Province, Afghanistan.
The 5k will start and end at the North Park Boathouse at in Allison Park, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on June 30, 2012 at 8:30 AM.
After the 5k there will be a service remembering fallen service members. A color guard will be in attendance for the event. There will also be entertainment, refreshments and raffles.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the Semper Fi Fund.

About Marine Sgt Caskey:
Joseph Davis Caskey was born in Stuttgart, Germany on February 2, 1986 while his father was stationed there during his Army career. He grew up in Germany, Hawaii, Hershey and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and was an avid fan of Pittsburgh sports teams and passionate about fitness.
Joe joined the Marines as a Motor Transportation Infantryman, following a long tradition of his family’s service to his country with his great grandfather serving in the Army in World War I, his grandfather serving in the Army Infantry in World War II, his father and mother serving in the Army during the Cold War, and his two brothers, who both served in Operation Iraqi Freedom as an Air Force Combat Videographer and Marine Infantryman respectively.
Sergeant Joseph Caskey was killed in action during convoy operations in the Helmand Province by an Improvised Explosive Device on June 26, 2010. Joe’s family expresses their heartfelt gratitude and honor to all those participating in this event to honor the memory of his sacrifice.
