Eight-year-old Paisley, daughter of Marine veteran Paige Thomas who served our Nation for 25 years, was born with tibial hemimelia, an extremely rare medical condition which resulted in lower extremity amputation at 23-months of age. As a double amputee with autism, Paisley is dependent on critical medical equipment to ensure her safety and comfort within her own home. But when frequent power outages made these vital machines unusable, Paisley’s overall well-being was compromised.
Because of the generosity of our donors, The Fund answered the call for help by gifting her family with a generator to offset the loss of power and make certain all of Paisley’s medical equipment never stops working — a burden no child should ever have to face alone.
“The Fund means Family. It is so much more than a financial resource. The grace and compassion with which it executes its mission is beyond words. Since day one, we have always felt seen, heard, and understood…We have a great sense of belonging and significance with The Fund, and we are forever grateful for the invitation to join such an amazing family and carry forward a portion of the legacy that reaches so many.”
-Lieutenant Colonel Paige Thomas, USMC (Ret)
