Ten Miles for Ten Years

Master Chief Harry Bologna served with unwavering courage and distinction for over 22 years as a Navy SEAL. But on October 22, 2015, his life changed forever. While in Afghanistan, Harry stepped on a landmine—in an instant, he lost both his legs and marked the beginning of a new kind of battle: recovery.

Now, ten years later, Harry is honoring his Alive Day—by taking on a new mission: completing the Army Ten-Miler with his family by his side. This powerful milestone— “10 Miles for 10 Years”— is more than a race. It’s a celebration of family, friends, teammates, and the unwavering support that has carried Harry through the past decade.

This event is also Harry’s way of continuing his service and giving back. All funds raised will be evenly divided between two organizations that have stood by Harry and his family every step of the way:

Semper Fi & America’s Fund’s journey with Harry started just days after his evacuation from Afghanistan. A case manager from the Fund met Harry at his bedside in the ICU, promising to be there for whatever came next. Ten years later, that same case manager is still by his side—offering support, encouragement, and care to both him and his family.

The Boulder Crest Foundation provided Harry with the opportunity to heal and rediscover his sense of meaning and purpose, enabling him to continue serving his country.

These two organizations have not only supported Harry’s healing and recovery but have also embraced his family, walking arm in arm with them through every challenge and victory.
