Shamrock Run

Kingston, NY – Come out for a true FUN run – 2 miles before the Kingston’s St Patrick’s Day Parade!  It is a great way to get folks out in the spring and into running.

The Shamrock Run was started in hopes of creating a “flat, fast and first class race”; it does not time the runners. Since the race is so short, only 2 miles, folks do not get a chance to spread out that much on the course. Trying to provide accurate times for each runner would be much too challenging.  In keeping with the theme of a simple “fun run”, the committee provides a clock for runners, but insist that they check their own time (if they choose to) when they cross the finish.

Runners get a t-shirt, a pre-race gift, a finisher’s medal and a post-race party which includes Shamrock cookies, green bagels and beverages. At the post-race party- two round trip airline tickets to Ireland are raffled off (tear off the bottom off the bib and place in raffle box). Registration in the run allows your bib number in, but you must be present at the post-race party to win!
