U.S Army Soldier and Paratrooper, Adam Keys, has set out this September to climb Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania and wants his efforts to benefit 3 organizations dear to his heart: Semper Fi Fund, Achilles International (Freedom Team), and Warrior Events.
Adam was stationed in Afghanistan in 2010 as part of the 20 Engineer Brigade, 27th Battalion, 618 Engineer Support Company, “NASTY COMPANY!” when he was severely injured. Adam lost both legs, above my knees, and his left hand below the elbow, from an improvised explosive device (IED). Adam spent just over 5 years in the hospital, both as an inpatient and outpatient and has had 100 surgeries. He retired in July of 2015 and is ready to give back to the organizations who assisted him during his recovery.
