WHY: “Recovery Through Sport” has proven to be an ideal outlet for injured service members to hone both physical agility and mental focus, skills that are critical to navigating their recovery. Learning and practicing alongside fellow wounded service members, they can also trade stories, share strategies for coping with their injuries, and forge lasting friendships.
Golf is a sport that can be played by all ability levels for a lifetime. It is the ultimate challenge both mentally and physically and serves the service members well on their road to recovery by sharpening their minds and their focus, as well as tuning up their bodies. The degree of difficulty of this game requires a lot of focus, determination, and ability to adapt, all qualities of our Team Semper Fi & Team America’s Fund Members,” says TSF Senior Manager, Casey Fisher.
