Absarokee, Montana – Join Semper Fi Fund and America’s Fund Jinx McCain Horsemanship Program for a horse packing and fly-fishing adventure in the majestic Beartooth Mountains near Absarokee, Montana

Saddle up with us for the Jinx McCain Horsemanship Program’s inaugural horse packing and fly fishing venture into the heart of the majestic Beartooth Mountains near Absarokee, Montana. If you have ever imagined yourself horse packing into the high mountains rivers of Montana and catching cutthroat and rainbow trout on dry flies, then this is the trip for you.

We’ll take 11 wounded, ill, or injured service members and veterans, and their spouses for a week of horsemanship and fly-fishing in the heart of the Beartooth Mountains. Will spend the first two days learning basic horsemanship skills on a ranch near the small town of Absarokee and then head to the mountains for three days of horse packing and fly fishing. You’ll learn to pack manatees and deckers, set up a fishing camp, tie flies by fireside, cook in Dutch ovens, and drift a dry fly in pursuit of mountain trout. This is your chance to experience Montana’s fabled high country and fabulous trout waters.

When:

6 August: Fly into Billings Montana
7,8 August: Basic Horsemanship Clinic in Absarokee
9, 10, 11 August: Horse Pack into the Beartooth Mountains for three days of fly-fishing the high country
12 Aug: Fly home from Billings Montana
