Operation Ends of the Earth-Antarctica Ice Marathon

Union Glacier, Antarctica – Talk about a change of pace! This unique and super cool (pun intended) marathon will take place on the continent of Antarctica. A group of 4 female Marine Aviators will be braving the cold of Antarctica in this ice marathon in support of the Semper Fi Fund.

A Message from Kate

“My name is Kate Dworak, team instigator for Operation Ends of the Earth. My team consists of four women, all Marines with aviation specialties: two Cobra pilots, one Phrog pilot, and one Hornet weapon systems operator. Our profession is incredible and rewarding, but also extremely dangerous. Many of our friends and comrades have endured life altering injuries. Because of this, we are raising money for the Semper Fi Fund, a charity dedicated to directly assisting families of the fallen and improving the quality of life of wounded military members. 

Running in races like the Marine Corps or New York City marathons have become an increasingly popular method of fundraising for the SFF. Thousands of people run those races yearly. We have a more interesting vision.”

“In November 2015, Polar Running Adventures will host the eleventh Antarctic Ice Marathon. A field of over fifty adventure athletes from around the globe will assemble for this event. My team intends to compete in this field. Through this incredible challenge, we are fundraising for the Semper Fi Fund. Your donations will go towards providing better support, financial aide, and help throughout their rehabilitation.”
