25 Hours of Thunderhill 2011
Dec 3, 2011 - Dec 4, 2011
Willows, CA – Co-founder of the Davidson Institute and Davidson Academy, Bob Davidson, is hosting a racing fundraiser for the Semper Fi Fund. This is the second year that Bob has formed a team to participate in the “25 hours of Thunderhill,” the longest endurance road race in the world.
Sanctioned by the National Auto Sport Association (NASA) and co-sponsored by the U.S. Air Force, the “25 hours of Thunderhill” is known as the ultra marathon of road racing requiring a well-prepared car, highly experienced drivers, endurance by all and some luck.
While more than 80 teams are expected to compete in this year’s race, the Racing Team Semper Fi race car will be the one to beat in this nail-biting event that holds unexpected turns for all those involved. Held at the Thunder Raceway, a 3 mile road course in Willows, CA about two hours north of San Francisco, the race will host teams consisting of multiple drivers, up to eight crew members and up to four support staff.
The green flag will fall at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 3, 2011 and the checkered flag will end the race at noon on Sunday, Dec. 4, 2011.
Racing Team Semper Fi is determined to meet the challenge of this unique, grueling event for our injured Marines through support of the Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund. You can help support them in this effort by donating today in support of their event.
All funds contributed by any sponsors are being given to the Semper Fi fund.
