Winter Sports Help Semper Fi Fund Vets Recover at Three Mountain Ski and Snowboard Camp at Keystone Mountain Resort
Athletes coached by Keystone Adaptive Center
Who: 35 service members and caregivers from Team Semper Fi and Team America’s Fund, of all ability levels, to learn and hone skiing and snowboarding skills.
What: Team Semper Fi and Team America’s Fund athletes, including a mono-skier, will hit the slopes for the Three Mountain Ski and Snowboard Camp in Keystone, CO. They’ll build more than just skill at this unforgettable event—they’ll also leave with camaraderie, confidence and lifelong bonds with their fellow teammates. During the three-day camp, the service members will receive instruction from world-class coaches and volunteers from Keystone Adaptive Center, which provides alpine, skiing and snowboarding lessons to people with disabilities and other special needs.

Why: “Recovery Through Sport (TM):” Skiing and snowboarding are ideal outlets for injured service members to hone both physical agility and mental focus, skills that are critical to navigating their recovery. Learning and practicing alongside fellow wounded service members, they also have the opportunity to trade stories, share strategies for coping with their injuries, and forge lasting friendships.
